MaXX's Story...
Being a family owned small business, we were inspired by our fishing memories from generation to generation. We founded Maxx's Custom Lures with one goal in mind: make a quality fishing lure that is reliable and affordable for the beginner to the professional. When making the lures (both in our Custom Color Lab and our Maxx's Originals), we focused on "colorization," meaning using diverse colors that aren't the standard from the bigger companies. We wanted a company that was created for the angler by the angler. From our family to yours, here's to the thrill of the catch!
Big Bru's Units...
In the spring of 2023, I caught my personal best largemouth bass (7.1 lbs in northern Wisconsin). What a thrilling experience - the fight, the pull, the adrenaline rush and the feeling of knowing this must be a BIG fish! In that moment, I realized my passion for fishing should be shared with others. Since my early childhood, I have always had a love for fishing. Who could resist a day on the water waiting for that epic catch! As I got older, I realized I could combine my excitement for innovating new ideas and fishing together and I started building my own jigs. Making my own jigs allowed me to customize my colors, size and design to see what would work or wouldn’t work for bass, walleye, northern pike and panfish. Since retirement, I have been able to participate in my fishing passion more frequently. I try to get on the water as much as possible, to test my jig creations and determine what designs work best to attract the fish. For years, I have been a member of our local fishing club. Our club has great monthly speakers and I continue to learn from their experiences and expertise. These insights enabled me to put into practice how best to tailor my jigs to enhance the value of my product. In October of 2023, I turned 76 years old. I have now decided to put my dream and vision into action and create my new company, BIG BRU's. This is an exciting way to share my original creations with you. And to top it off, I saw an opportunity for the 'perfect hookup' with my daughter and son-in-law's company...Maxx's Custom Lures.
